Grain Rainbow

May the pure energy within every grain of rice,

Each brimmed with different rays of seven colors

Create in our mind and body the will to live.

Those that absorbed violet rays give us bodily energy.

Those imbued in indigo fill us up with wisdom.

Those saturated with blue sustain us with virtues.

Those penetrated by green rays ensure our power to grow.

Those that seeped in yellow rays give out warmth.

While those filled with orange impart blessings.

And those that drank in red rays bring us good luck.

So, as I hope, all seven-colored rays combine forces

To create life's equilibrium.

Every grain of rice is saturated with all seven colored rays of rainbows,

A hundred days of solar energy

And a hundred nights of moonlight.

To man and animal, it has devoted itself

After having been nourished by the Earth for a hundred nights and days.

In every grain exists virtuous energy that sustains life.

Through millions of years rice has evolved

And emerged as farmers' hope and work,

So every grain should be seen as an example

Of forceful and virtuous cooperation between the Earth and Man.

Nourish our body with food, our mind with arts.

The whole purity in each grain of rice is a bountiful blessing.

Each mouthful of rice brings us thought of virtues.

Each gulp of water reminds us of our duty to care for Nature.

At each breath, let our mind dwell

on love and help that we should give out to our fellow human beings.

Embrace and kiss, although that is only life's virtuous duty

and not your love's tender lips.

Stand firmly upon the righteous path acclaimed by all.

Walk along the way of devotion and sacrifice for the public.

Sit and meditate upon creative working everyday.

Sleep as soundly as stars in the sky.

Let's face truth as it really is.

Birth is the first step toward Death.

The example of creation.

Life is molded by Nature.

Life exists in continuous working.

One who finds the way of virtues can be called the creator.

My paintings are words of thanks to every grain of rice.
